Honeybees & High Tea in Dubai

When is the last time you had a tea party? Well, let me tell you about a magical tea party that I had on my trip to Dubai. In Middle Eastern culture, tea is a delicacy. A shot of tea is often served at the end of lunch or dinner -a shot because the tea is so strong! You can literally find a tea shop on any street corner and sample beautiful blends of herbs and spices and buy them by the pound/kg. Many hotels and cafes have put a fun spin on enjoying tea by offering high tea sessions, basically a luxurious tea party for you and your friends and family.

We enjoyed the SocialBee High Tea Experience at the SocialBee cafe inside of the Hilton Palm Jumeriah Hotel. The cafe is located inside of the hotel lobby, so anyone can enjoy the experience -a reservation is highly recommended! My sister was staying at this hotel during our Dubai vacation, so she booked a reservation for our family, on the last day of our trip, as a farewell activity.

The tea experience came with unlimited refills on either hot or iced tea. There were so many delicious options it was very hard to choose! The best part of the experience was the life sized honeycombs that were full of delicious bite sized treats. The wait staff wheeled our two honeycombs out on a cart that was engulfed in a cloud of dry ice smoke – so fancy! The honeycombs had a keyhole and four drawers. The wait staff presented us with a mini honeycomb and inside was a key to unlock the larger ones. Each drawer was filled with pastries, cakes, cookies, and mini sandwiches. It was so adorable! We feasted on treats and sipped our tea, reminiscing about our days in Dubai!

This is a luxurious experience that I highly recommend to beat the heat in Dubai. It is a great way to enjoy some delicious treats and meaningful conversation with your travel companions to either kick off or finish out your trip. The price for the SocialBee High Tea Experience is $99 USD per honeycomb (unlimited tea included). We ordered two honeycombs to share between the six of us and we had leftover treats to take back to our hotel. No matter what, make sure you seek out and snag a few carrot cake bites before everyone in your party finds out how good it is – you have been warned!
