A Barbie Girl Dream at the Beverly Hills Hotel, California

Nestled on the hills of the infamous Sunset Boulevard, the Beverly Hills Hotel is not only an LA landmark, but also one of the world’s best-known hotels. Since the 1900s, the Beverly Hills Hotel has been a hotspot for celebrities because of its exclusivity, amenities, and unique architecture.

Now, as much as I would have loved to have had the full Beverly Hills Barbie girl experience – you know, a private tennis lesson, poolside high-tea, an exclusive trip to the Chanel store (through the private entrance) etc., I could not bring myself to give this beautiful hotel $1,600 for one night of star treatment. However, I did use this hack to explore and enjoy this iconic hotel for a fraction of the price.

The Beverly Hills Hotel is not only home to Hollywood luxury but also the Cabana Cafe. Hidden in the hotel gardens, the Cabana cafe offers poolside seating and a variety of brunch options. The cafe is open to both hotel guests and non-guests. Only with a cafe reservation can you be permitted to enter the hotel as a non-guest, but once inside, you are free to explore every nook and cranny of the hotel’s glamorous grounds.

Our Uber brought us to the front entrance of the hotel where we were welcomed by valet and ushered down the long red carpet to the main hotel lobby. Once inside, we were given directions to the cafe, but took our time exploring the hotel before going there. Did you know that everything inside the Beverly Hills Hotel is pink and green? – like everything, the walls, the furniture, the carpet…everything!

We were able to admire the stunning architecture, roam through the luxurious hotel lounges, and view the historic photo exhibits of the hotel’s history and the former celebrities who had stayed there. There were even display cases of Hollywood high fashions from the 1900’s and modern day fashions like limited edition Hermes Birkin bags! – Wow!

After exercising our nosiness to the fullest, we finally made our way through the gardens and to the poolside cafe. We enjoyed a delicious brunch and fresh-pressed juices while keeping our eyes peeled in hopes of siting a celebrity at the cafe or poolside. Although no photography is allowed in the pool area to respect the privacy of the exclusive guests, we still managed to sneak a few! The service was good and the food was bougie and pricey…you would expect nothing less, right? If you happen to be in LA, California and are looking for a bougie brunch experience and a chance to explore the iconic, historic Beverley Hills Hotel snag a reservation at the Cabana Cafe.
